About Us

Partial Blur (1)

Freedom House Initiative was born out of necessity, amidst a backdrop of intimidation, discrimination, and threats. We understand the profound challenges faced by those who have been persecuted, attacked, or forced to flee their homes. As the most at-risk asylum seekers/refugees-led Community-Based Organization, we have firsthand experience in confronting these adversities. Our journey has been one of resilience, unity, and an unwavering commitment to justice through comprehensive refugee support services.

Our Vision

To create an inclusive environment where at-risk asylum seekers, refugees and victims/survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) can fully engage in and contribute to the life of their host communities regardless of their differences.

Our Mission

We advocate, empower and promote equality for the most vulnerable asylum seekers, refugees and GBV victims/survivors. Our mission is to assist and support them in reducing psychological pressure, adopting healthier lifestyles, achieving economic freedom and minimizing exposure to HIV/AIDS among other risks.

What We Do

At Freedom House Initiative, we provide a safe haven for those who have fled persecution and violence. Our programs focus on holistic support, addressing the multifaceted needs of asylum seekers, refugees, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) survivors through comprehensive refugee support services.

How We Provide Refugee Support Services

At Freedom House Initiative, we believe in the power of practical skills to transform lives. Our members have actively embraced the training they have received by engaging in various activities that contribute to their livelihoods. These activities not only provide for their basic needs but also foster a sense of purpose and community through our comprehensive refugee support services.

Kitchen Gardening

Our members are involved in sustainable agriculture through kitchen gardening. They cultivate a variety of crops that serve dual purposes: providing nutritious food for their families and generating income by selling the surplus. This initiative helps cover minor bills and promotes food security within our community.

Poultry Farming and Rabbit Rearing

In addition to gardening, our members are engaged in poultry farming and rabbit rearing. These activities are integral to our livelihood projects, offering a reliable source of protein and income. The skills acquired in these areas have enabled our members to become self-sufficient and contribute economically to their households.

Skills Training and Livelihood Programs

Through the generous support of partner organizations and well-wishers, we have conducted comprehensive skills training and livelihood programs. These programs have equipped our members with practical, marketable skills that they now apply in their daily lives. The impact of these initiatives is profound, making life more meaningful and sustainable for those we serve
